Film Nights Starting Again in October

We will be adhering to government guidelines with regard to social distancing and the wearing of face masks, so numbers attending will be greatly reduced to 50 seats. Tickets are available on a first come first served basis.

The film will run straight through from start to finish with no interval. So therefore no refreshments will be served and no cakes ! We will review this item in early 2022.

THE COURIER is a true-life spy thriller, the story of an unassuming British businessman Greville Wynne (Benedict Cumberbatch) recruited into one of the greatest international conflicts in history. At the behest of the UK's MI-6 and a CIA operative (Rachel Brosnahan), he forms a covert, dangerous partnership with Soviet officer Oleg Penkovsky (Merab Ninidze) in an effort to provide crucial intelligence needed to prevent a nuclear confrontation and defuse the Cuban Missile Crisis.

COVID-19 Guidance

We are pleased to confirm that King Edward Hall is open and able to consider taking bookings subject to the Government's recovery plans and Roadmap out of Lockdown.  In Step 4, people are being asked “to make informed decisions and act carefully and proportionately to manage risk to themselves and others”.  While legal restrictions will no longer apply, Government guidance will continue to be issued.

Community events and activities and private hires are now permitted with risks being managed by hirers e.g., through ventilation, encouraging social distancing, wearing of face coverings, hand washing and use of sanitiser.  More frequent cleaning of regularly touched surfaces is also being encouraged.

The Hall continues to operate under special COVID conditions of hire with the following reduced room capacity:

Newcombe hall:  100 seated in rows, 67 around tables

Jubilee room:       40 seated in rows, 33 around tables

Old Library:           20 in rows
