England has moved to Plan B in response to the risks of the Omicron variant. As such it is now compulsory for users of King Edward Hall to wear face coverings.
Anyone engaged in activities which would normally take place in one of the exempt settings: eating, drinking, exercising, or dancing, is exempt from wearing a face covering, but must wear one at all other times e.g. when entering the Hall; using the kitchen/toilets; at an event where refreshments are served but they are not eating/drinking.
Community events and activities and private hires are being permitted with risks being managed by hirers e.g., through ventilation, encouraging social distancing, wearing of face coverings, hand washing and use of sanitiser. More frequent cleaning of regularly touched surfaces is also being encouraged.
The Hall continues to operate under special COVID conditions of hire with the following reduced room capacity:
Newcombe hall: 100 seated in rows, 67 around tables
Jubilee room: 40 seated in rows, 33 around tables
Old Library: 20 in rows
Copies of the special COVID-19 conditions of hire and the Hall’s COVID-19 risk assessment are available to view here:
