The Newcombe Hall


Formally known as the Main Hall

The Newcombe Hall measures 15.6 x 8.6 metres (excluding the stage) and will accommodate 150 people seated in rows or 100 seated at tables. The stage and Public Address system with loop makes this Hall ideal to accommodate weddings, large social gatherings and charity functions. We also have a small supply of display stands available for use.

    COVID-19 Guidance

    We are pleased to confirm that King Edward Hall is open and able to consider taking bookings subject to the Government's recovery plans and Roadmap out of Lockdown.  In Step 4, people are being asked “to make informed decisions and act carefully and proportionately to manage risk to themselves and others”.  While legal restrictions will no longer apply, Government guidance will continue to be issued.

    Community events and activities and private hires are now permitted with risks being managed by hirers e.g., through ventilation, encouraging social distancing, wearing of face coverings, hand washing and use of sanitiser.  More frequent cleaning of regularly touched surfaces is also being encouraged.

    The Hall continues to operate under special COVID conditions of hire with the following reduced room capacity:

    Newcombe hall:  100 seated in rows, 67 around tables

    Jubilee room:       40 seated in rows, 33 around tables

    Old Library:           20 in rows
