We’re hiring! We’re looking for a Hall Steward at the King Edward Hall, Lindfield

The King Edward Hall is at the heart of village life — from cinema nights, fitness classes and children’s groups to celebrations and other local events — and we’re looking for a friendly, reliable Hall Steward to join our team.
 
This is a flexible, part-time role, ideal for someone local, including semi-retired or part-time workers, who enjoys being involved in the community, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly.

What you’ll be doing:

• Opening and securing the hall for bookings
• Making sure the hall, facilities and equipment are clean, tidy and ready for use
• Being a helpful point of contact for hirers when needed
• Carrying out basic checks and reporting any issues
• Supporting a safe, welcoming environment for all users

What we’re looking for:

• Someone dependable, approachable and practical
• A hands-on attitude with an eye for detail
• Good awareness of customer service
• Living locally, so you can respond if needed during bookings

There is no requirement to be on-site throughout entire bookings, but you’ll be part of a friendly team ensuring everything runs smoothly for our hirers.

You’ll be helping ensure that local groups, families and organisations can enjoy the hall at its best – making a genuine contribution to village life.
