We are very excited about this year's Village Day - over 120 stalls on the common, a caribbean themed procession down Lindfield High Street, loads of fun games on the Common, a beer tent, food stalls to satisfy your hunger, a pet show and a traditional village summer event where thousands of residents and visitors enjoy and fab day out!
Order of Events:
1300-1330 Procession arrives on Lindfield Common
1330-1345 Firing of the Anvil
1345-1415 Zumba with Esther Featherstone
1420-1435 Tug of War (adults)
1440-1455 Adults and Kids Wheel Barrow races
1500-1515 Welly Wanging
1520-1535 Adults and kids 3-legged race
1600-1610 Final Tug of War (adults)
(You must register on the day in order to participate in these events)
This year the annual Village Day procession will take place between 12.15pm and 1.15pm and will have a Caribbean theme and we have even booked a the fantastic Euphoria Steel Band to lead the procession. Anyone and everyone, including local organisations, are invited to join the parade in fancy dress, in a group and/or with a float. As usual there will be a competition - this year the categories are:
• Best Float
• Best Walking Group
• Judges’ Award for Best Carnival Theme (float, group or individual)
Or just come along as you are – fancy dress is not essential!
Please gather at Hickmans Lane Playing Fields at 12.15pm, for judging at 12.30pm and departure for Lindfield Common (via the High Street) at 12.45pm.
Children's Pet Show
Children – come along and bring your pets for this fun competition on the Common. Register your pet at The King Edward Hall main gazebo from midday; no forms need be filled in, it costs £1 per class. Last entry 2.45pm. Pets may only be entered into a maximum of three of the following classes. Judging will take place from 3pm.
Fancy Dress Pair (optional for owner!)
Best Veteran Dog (over 7 years)
Best Junior Handler (can you show that your dog listens to you?)
Best Small Pet
Pet the judges would most like to take home!
Best in Show
Lindfield Village Day is completely manned by volunteers - thanks to all who made this years event happen. This video shows how the common gets setup on the day.
